Accreditation¶
NAAC, NBA and NIRF ask for overlapping data, and institutions usually re-enter it for each. Kwilo's approach is to make the live Campus and Classroom record the master dataset, so a submission is compiled from data that's already there.
Evidence from records¶
Live today, as records:
- Attendance by session, cohort and faculty
- Assignment and exam marks, with AI suggestions and final human marks
- Scanned answer sheets linked to marks
- Statutory institution identity: AISHE code, affiliation number, NAAC grade, AICTE approval, UDISE+ code
- Student particulars needed for AISHE and UDISE+ returns
Rolling out: views that organise this evidence the way reviewers ask for it, by criterion, with each figure tracing back to its source.
Outcome mapping¶
Live for higher education. Outcome-based education runs end to end, from a subject's syllabus to an issued programme result. It is a compliance feature: on by default for engineering colleges and universities, granted to degree colleges that need it, and never available to schools or PU colleges. Within an institution that has it, the unit manager switches tracking on.
Everything lives under Compliance › Outcomes.
Which body a programme answers to¶
A programme states its body when it is set up, and the rest of the module follows that answer. Nothing is assumed from the institution type.
| Body | Applies to | What Kwilo produces |
|---|---|---|
| NBA | A technical programme, as Tier I if autonomous or Tier II if affiliated | Criterion 3 evidence: outcomes, the articulation matrix, direct and indirect attainment. Criterion 7: improvement actions with follow-up |
| NAAC | The institution | Criterion 2.6: outcomes stated, and their attainment evaluated |
| UGC NHEQF | Degree programmes | Programme and course learning outcomes stated against level descriptors |
AICTE approves institutions and accredits nothing, so it is not one of the choices.
The workflow¶
- Syllabus. Confirmed once per subject and scheme in Classroom setup, from a Knowledge Base document, an upload, or typed text. Every section and every year reuses it.
- Course outcomes. Drafted from that syllabus, edited, and approved. Kwilo can draft them; a person approves them.
- Question mapping. Each question on a paper carries the marks it contributes to each outcome, and the allocation must add up to the question's total.
- Marks. Question-wise, entered by hand, imported as CSV, or taken from marks already finalised in Kwilo.
- Course attainment. Calculated under an approved policy the institution writes, then issued as a frozen snapshot.
- CO to PO mapping. Approved per course against an approved outcome framework the institution enters. No framework is seeded.
- Exit surveys. One question per programme outcome, approved before it collects anything, with response coverage tracked.
- Programme attainment. Combines issued course snapshots and survey evidence for a named cohort, then issues a programme snapshot.
- Reports and improvement actions. Evidence packs from frozen snapshots, and actions raised against a measured gap.
What the numbers mean¶
- Only approved and issued records count. A draft or an AI suggestion never makes a figure look ready.
- An outcome with no evidence shows why, never a zero.
- A completed improvement action needs a later measurement, not a claim, and cannot be edited afterwards.
- A follow-up reports what changed alongside the result and never attributes the change to the action.
Readiness¶
A readiness view per programme lists what each body asks for, what exists, and what is missing, with a link to the screen that closes each gap. An attainment trend compares issued cycles, and leaves out any cycle measured against a different framework edition, naming it underneath.
Who does what¶
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Faculty | Syllabus, outcomes, question mapping, marks, course attainment and reports for their own courses |
| Programme coordinator | Frameworks, CO-PO mapping, cohorts, surveys, programme attainment and reports for granted programmes |
| Unit manager | Switches tracking on, grants faculty and coordinators, and sees readiness across every programme |
| Kwilo platform admin | Grants or revokes the OBE feature for an organisation |
Not built yet¶
The learner-facing survey response page, importing survey results collected elsewhere, and a three-year trend for institutions whose earlier cycles were never recorded in Kwilo.
Accreditation packs¶
Partly live. Course and programme evidence packs are issued from frozen snapshots and downloaded as CSV, JSON or a readable report, with a manifest that lets a figure be traced to its source. Kwilo can draft the narrative around those figures; the numbers themselves always come from the snapshot.
Rolling out. Full SSR, AQAR and SAR sections assembled in the format each body asks for.
Planned: attendance compliance reports¶
Defaulter and shortage lists against a minimum attendance threshold, and a view of unmarked sessions by faculty and date.
