B2C: Consumers

How an individual goes from a visitor on kwilo.ai to a paying Pro subscriber. This is Kwilo's growth engine.

B2C signup-to-paying flow

The loop in plain English

  1. A visitor signs up on the marketing site and picks a persona: learner, parent, or trainer. → Persona vocabulary · Persona capabilities
  2. Trainers hit a waitlist hold (a painted-door test) while the learner/parent path continues. → Trainer signup hold
  3. Email must be verified before the workspace opens. → Email verification gate
  4. They land in a chat-first workspace on the free tier. → Post-signup workspace
  5. They use the AI tutor and chat, capped at a free monthly pool of actions. They can upload their own notes, syllabus, or past papers into My Space so the tutor grounds answers in their material. → AI Tutor (Kwilo Intelligence) · My Space · Chat Workspace
  6. They hit a Pro wall, either a quota limit or a Pro-only feature. Some surfaces show a free teaser (unmetered, the conversion hook) before the paywall. Free uploads are capped too: exceed the file or storage limit and the paywall opens. → Unified locks · Study Plan gate
  7. They upgrade through Razorpay (monthly or yearly Pro). → Two-tier pricing · Payments
  8. Pro unlocks everything: the full Study Plan, no limits, and the subscription enters its lifecycle: renew, cancel, refund, pause. → Subscription lifecycle

The money path, in one line

Free pool → hit a wall → teaser → paywall → Razorpay → Pro. Every B2C feature decision is about moving a learner one step further along that line without burning trust.

Why a teaser before the paywall

A hard wall on the one premium hook sells it on an abstraction. A free outline teaser (unmetered) lets the learner feel the value first, then upgrade. That's the conversion mechanic behind the Study Plan gate.
